1962 Jaguar D-Type (Proteus)

CHF 190'000.--

A wonderful and near perfect replica built by Proteus

History:

After the Le Mans victories in 1951 and 1953 with the C-Type - or XK 120 C - Jaguar entered the legendary 24-hour race at the Sarthe in 1954 with the D-Type, which was futuristic by the standards of the time. For the first time, the curved body, which was as beefy as it was sleek, was self-supporting. As a result, the extremely aerodynamic and lightweight roadster was equipped with a 3.4 L six-cylinder engine with 260 hp.

This resulted in three consecutive victories in the 24H of Le Mans race (1955, 1956 and 1957). By 1957, 71 Jaguar D-Types have been produced.

This vehicle: #P774323BW

This beautiful D-Type replica "by Proteus " with aluminum body and 3.8 Lt E-Type engine is very close to the original and has been expertly built.

The car was bought by the previous owner in 1990 and sold to the current owner in 2008 (both well-known Swiss collectors).

The car has been regularly serviced and was last inspected as a veteran in 2015.

It has been driven very little since then.
