1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 S
Beautifull, fully restored and "matching number" Lamborghini Miura P400 S with less then 40'000 Km
The Lamborghini Miura S, introduced in 1968, was the advanced version of the legendary Miura, considered the first true mid-engine super sports car. Developed by engineer Giampaolo Dallara and designer Marcello Gandini at Bertone, the Miura set new standards in technology and design. The S version received numerous improvements: the 4.0-litre V12 now delivered 370 hp, enabling a top speed of over 280 km/h. The chassis was refined and high-quality equipment details such as chrome trim, electric windows and a more luxurious interior added to its comfort.
Visually, the Miura S remained true to its sensual lines – the flat front, the “eyelashes” around the headlights and the extremely low profile made it an icon. Only around 140 units were produced between 1968 and 1971, which greatly increases its rarity and collector's value today.
The Miura S was not just a car, but a statement: it combined racing technology with road comfort and defined a completely new category of sports car. To this day, it is considered one of the most beautiful and fascinating automobiles in history – a rolling work of art that played a decisive role in shaping the Lamborghini legend.
This example – chassis #4809 and production number #597 – is one of the last Miura S models built. It was completed on February 9, 1971, and delivered on February 26, 1971, to Spanish businessman Santiago Puig in Tenerife by agent Vela Murillo. The original delivery color was “Rosso Corsa” and the interior was “black leather.” The vehicle was delivered with vented disc brakes and air conditioning.
In November 1980, the Miura S was sold to its second owner, Manuel Jacinto, who had the vehicle repainted «Giallo Miura», an original Lamborghini color (the red color had faded in the Spanish sun, so a lighter shade color was chosen).
With a mileage of 25,086 km, the vehicle was imported into Switzerland in the 80’s. The current (second Swiss) owner bought it in 1998 and had the vehicle completely restored between 2006 and 2011, when it showed only 36,272 km on the odometer. The entire restoration is documented in detail in three A4 folders with pictures and invoices.
The engine was completely overhauled and converted to SV specifications (the SV introduced a separate oil circuit system for the engine and transmission for the first time, which improved the durability).
The vehicle is “fully matching numbers,” meaning that all numbers (chassis, engine, body) correspond to the delivery condition.
The original owner's manual is included, as is the original dealer directory from 1970.
Today, the odometer reads just under 36,500 km. The vehicle was freshly registered as a vintage vehicle on July 16, 2025, and underwent a major service costing over CHF 15,000.
